Cascina Castlèt is getting ready for Vinitaly 2019 wine fair, in Verona from Sunday 7 to Wednesday 10 April. We are in the Piemonte Pavilion 10, Stand L3 . We will be starting on Sunday 7 April at 3:00 p.m. (pavilion 10, Room C, 1 st floor) with our Castlètrosé, taking part in “ Sei espressioni di grandi vini rosati italiani ” (Six expressions of great Italian rosé wines), the wine tasting and round table organised by Fisar in Rosa (Federazione Italiana Sommelier Albergatori Ristoratori). The important Austrian magazine Falstaff awarded scores to four of our Barberas. The highest score goes to Litina Barbera d’Asti Superiore docg 2016 (92 points), followed by Passum Barbera d’Asti Superiore docg 2016 and Vespa Barbera d’Asti docg 2017 both with 91 points. Cascina Castlèt on tour in Norway with Barolo & Friends Event , organised by the Piedmont Wine Consortium. The tour kicks off on Monday the 12 th of February in the capital, Oslo, at the Gamle Logen with three sessions: the first reserved for representatives of the trade sector; a second aimed at wine lovers, selected with the cooperation of the associations of sommeliers and some of the most important Norwegian wine clubs; and a a promotion reserved for the representatives of Vinmonopolet, the Norwegian Liquor Control Board. Our new Moscato d’Asti 2016 scored 91 points at the Decanter World Wine Award , major prize given by the tasting panel judges of the English magazine. The score is worth a Silver Medal. Another award that matches the 90 points already assigned in April to Barbera d’Asti Vespa 2015. Our Moscato d’Asti is a wine that brings joy, just like the label: a glass filled with golden wine and a butterfly drawn by a child. The grapes come from hilly vineyards with a good exposure and a planting density of 5.000 vines per hectare. Uvalino, an almost disappeared Piedmontese grape variety, will be starring in a tasting of rare wines at Vinitaly 2017 , on Sunday 9th April at 3.00 pm, in front of an audience of buyers, journalists, masters of wine and master sommeliers from all over the world. It is an initiative of the National Association Le Donne del Vino, that entrusted one of the world’s foremost experts of Italian native grapes, the journalist Ian D’Agata, with the task of communicating the importance of women winemakers in preserving ancient varieties that would otherwise be lost.
