The sun and photovoltaic power

Another great ally of Cascina Castlet is the sun. It always has been, because it is only thanks to the sun’s light and warmth that the vines grow and thee grapes ripen, but it has also become important as a source of alternative and renewable energy.
A photovoltaic system for the production of electricity has been installed on the roofs of our winery, on the part facing southwards.
It covers over 50% of our estate’s energy requirements, reducing the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Important results have already been achieved, but we can do even better, minimising the consumption of electricity: all the light sources in our cellar and all our systems are very low consumption.
