Backpacks for Ecuadorian Children: A Small Gesture for a Bright Future
Friday 7 February 2025
Once again this year, we have renewed our commitment to the children of Father Giovanni Onore by supporting their education with a special gift: sturdy and durable backpacks, handcrafted by local artisans in Ecuador. This is not just a tangible help to enable young students to attend school with the right tools, but also a gesture that supports local craftsmanship, creating a virtuous cycle of solidarity and development.
For years, we have shared a deep friendship with Father Onore, a missionary and entomologist originally from Costigliole d'Asti, who is the heart and soul of the Otonga Project. This extraordinary initiative was created to protect the Amazon rainforest from uncontrolled deforestation while also ensuring that local children have access to education and the opportunity to build a dignified future. Education is the key to transforming the lives of these young students, giving them the tools to grow, learn, and become conscious citizens, ready to protect their land and its natural wonders.
We are proud to contribute to this mission, knowing that each backpack given is not just filled with books and notebooks, but also with hope for a better tomorrow. Thank you, Father Giovanni, for your tireless work and for the inspiration you continue to give us
