Cascina Castlèt is getting ready for Vinitaly 2023, the wine fair scheduled to be held in Verona from Sunday the 2nd to Wednesday the 5th of April. Our stand is in Pavilion 10, position L3. The new vintages on release available for tasting at the stand: Litina Barbera d’Asti, Moscato d’Asti, Ataj Chardonnay, Castlètrosé, Uceline Uvalino, Barbera d’Asti Vespa, Policalpo Monferrato Rosso, Avié Moscato Passito, Passum Barbera d’Asti. Litina, Passum and Uceline Uvalino will also be present at the stands of the Consorzio della Barbera d’Asti.

Cascina Castlèt is happy to know that, this year, for the first time, our Barbera Vespa and our Moscato will be uncorked during the most important national holidays in South Korea: Chuseok Event! Chuseok is the most traditional and loved national holiday, in South Korea (quite similar to the traditional thanks giving day in US). From 9th to 12th of September, Korean people will meet together, living a in a friendly atmosphere, sharing food and gifts, together with friends and family. For this great event, our new Korean partner Wink Trading is offering a special hand wrapped “gifts sets” with our Barbera and Moscato. Cascina Castlèt wish to all the Korean people to enjoy Chuseok and our wines!

Cascina Castlèt will be at Prowein in Düsseldorf, the biggest German wine fair, from Sunday the 15th until Tuesday the 17th of May 2022 . We’ll present the new vintages of our wines. The vineyard speaks and tells its story. This is how the open-air exhibition at the Cascina Castlèt winery in Costigliole d'Asti came about. It proposes an itinerary of environmental education and respect for the land, trees and animals. In the vineyards, around the winery, there is a poster that tells the story of life between the rows of vines: from animals (hedgehogs, birds, hares, insects) to trees (mulberry trees, cherry trees, oaks), from the importance of biodiversity to the architectural elements of the rural landscape with its “ ciabot ” and votive chapels. The project was created with the boys and girls of the Penna Agricultural Institute of Asti , coordinated by their teachers," says winegrower Mariuccia Borio .

Planting a vineyard has always been a gesture of optimism, even more so nowadays. At Cascina Castlèt, we have endless amounts of optimism and faith in the future, along with plenty of tenacity. After four years of hard work (exactly 1334 days from the first excavation ), the arrangement of wires and posts that are going to support the 22,170 vine stocks planted on the hill of bricco Borio in Costigliole d'Asti has finally been completed. We are in the heart of the area that bears our family name. Gently rolling hills, facing south. Vespa Barbera d'Asti 2019 and Uceline Uvalino 2013 have been included in the 2020 edition of 5StarWines, the annual wine selection organised by Vinitaly. Both have been assigned a score of 92/100. In this fourth, "agile", edition, over 2,000 samples were tasted by a jury of international experts; 847 of these were selected and then included in 5StarWines - the Book. And we're among them!

Before writing to you, I waited until the soil was ready for the planting of my new vineyard. At this moment in which our lives are somewhat suspended, in which the uncertainty we are experiencing is frightening, I wanted to send you a message of hope, because planting a vineyard is a symbol of the future that lies ahead. In 2020, Cascina Castlèt will be celebrating its 50 th harvest. This is a milestone, both in terms of hard work and life, reached thanks to the support of all those of you who have accompanied us on our journey over the years. Avié Moscato Passito sarà tra i vini di ABaccaBianca, la quarta edizione dell’evento dedicato ai bianchi piemontesi in programma domenica 16 giugno nel Castello di Costigliole d’Asti. L’evento è organizzato dall’Associazione Italiana Sommelier del Piemonte a cura dalla delegazione di Asti, con il patrocinio del Comune di Costigliole d’Asti. L’etichetta di Avié 2012 sarà tra i vini in degustazione dalle 11 alle 20 nel banco d’assaggio.
