Parco culturale

1994 saw the creation of the Grinzane Cavour Award Cultural Park, a project conceived by Giuliano Soria and backed by the Piedmont Region. Right from its foundation, the Grinzane, one of Italy’s greatest literary foundations, set itself up as the focal point for many of the region’s cultural forces.
The park’s headquarters are at the Castle of Costigliole d’Asti, currently undergoing extensive restoration work under the aegis of the Piedmont Region, Ministry of Cultural Assets and Activities and the European Union. Work is currently under way in the castle to house the “National Museum of the Territory”, which will become a place to enhance southern Piedmont’s anthropological, architectural, historical and literary heritage. The Castle, moreover, is destined to house a centre of documentation and guest quarters for writers and young people, as well as acting as the operational centre and reference point for a variety of possible events. The Cultural Park’s other seats are to be found at the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, the Castle of Magliano Alfieri, the Castle of Cortanze and the Hunting Lodge of Stupinigi.
