Meetings with Mariuccia Borio at the farmhouse are moments in which one can learn about the vine-growing world, marvel at how up-to-date and technological it is and appreciate how such modernity is capable of protecting, and of merging itself with, ancient rites and age-old ancestral skills and know-how.
The meeting/lesson takes place, on request in advance, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. any day of the week., in Italian, English, French and German, for groups of 8-12.
One starts off from the vineyard, in order to learn about the grapes, the layout, and special growing techniques, and then one goes to the winery, where the various wine-making stages are explained.
The tasting hall is equipped to satisfy the pleasures of tasting, and it is here that one may gain greater knowledge of the wines’ organoleptic qualities and how to marry them to local home-made products.
The impeccable serving of the wine - how to decant it, its serving temperature and which are the most suitable glasses to serve it in – concludes the “Meetings at the farmhouse”.
With that touch of whimsy which characterises the people of Monferrato, one may take a helicopter trip over the vineyards so as to make the lessons even more memorable.
An unforgettable experience and a moment of pure relaxation that is not a void, but a truly stimulating and interesting moment that our ancient forebears called otium, appreciating it as the peak point, ethically speaking, in man’s life.
